“We will take the first 20 individuals who sign up, after that we will have a wait list of 5 and if you are put on the waitlist we will inform you immediately as a seat becomes available.,” Jacobs said.
The course offered include:
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response “HAZWOPER” Standard – 29 CFR 1910.120€
This course is the initial training for employees who require formal health and safety training for working at hazardous waste site.
The training is designed for general site workers (such as incident scene clean-up workers, equipment operators, environmental technicians, and supervisory personnel) engaged in hazardous substance removal or other activities which expose or potentially expose workers to hazardous substance and health hazards. The class will involve lecture, practical classroom
exercises, and hands on training in full PPE ensembles under the supervision of qualified professional instructors. In addition to general health and safety topics, students will be trained on how to respond to expected emergencies at a hazardous waste site.

INTENDED FOR FIRE, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE
This course is based on the NFPA 470,2022 ed.: Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Standard for Emergency Responders. This course is for emergency response personnel who may be first on the scene of a hazardous materials emergency. First responders at the awareness level are expected to recognize the presence of hazardous materials, protect themselves, secure the area, and call for trained personnel. At the operational level, the first responder uses the knowledge gained from the awareness level to act in a defensive posture to protect people, the environment, or property from the effects of an unplanned hazardous materials release. This course meets the regulatory requirements of the Awareness and Operational levels required by OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120(q) “HAZWOPER Standard” and NFPA 470,2022ed. Job Performance Requirements of Chapter 5 (Awareness), Chapter 7 (Ops Core Competencies), Chapter 9.2, 9.3, 9.4, & 9.6 (Ops Mission Specific-PPE, Mass Decontamination, Technical Decontamination, & Product Control).
