CANTON – Empire-Hermon Chapter #68, Order of the Eastern Star awarded four scholarships to deserving high school graduates.
Each year the chapter recognizes their achievements and assists in furthering their education or trade.
Recipients are either nominated by their school or are children/grandchildren of the chapter's members.
This year’s recipients are Canton Central School nominated Faith Christy. She will be attending SUNY Cortland and study Sports Management, Hermon-DeKalb Central School nominated Saharrah Flanagan, recipient Logan Jones from Brushton-Moira Central School is the great grandson of Paul and Roberta Evans, long time members of the Eastern Star. Logan will be attending Hobart and William Smith studying Geoscience, recipient Kayleigh Allen, is a graduate of Edwards-Knox. She is the granddaughter of Susan Allen of Hermon. Kayleigh is attending SUNY Delhi University pursuing a nursing degree.
