David J. Kinney Sr., 62, Chase Mills

CHASE MILLS – Calling hours for David J. Kinney Sr., a resident of 6012 County Rt. 14, Chase Mills, will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk from 1-3 p.m.

A Celebration of life gathering and luncheon will be held following calling hours at the Fr. Andrew Aymot Parish Center at the Visitation Church in Norfolk until 5 p.m.

Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk at a later date. David passed away early Sunday morning, April 21, 2024, at his home with family at his side.

David is survived by his two sons, William and Mary Kinney, Massena; David Jr. and Amanda Kinney, Crossville, TN; his six grandchildren, Madeline, Mera, Lara, Chloe, Novalyn and Damien; his father, Lindon Kinney, Chase Mills; his two sisters, Cheryl Kinney, Chase Mills and Vicky and David Goldman, Norfolk and his longtime dear friend, Amy Wilson, Louisville as well as several nieces and nephews. David was pre-deceased by his mother Nancy and a sister, Linda Kinney.

Born in Potsdam, NY on November 4, 1961, to Lindon O. and Nancy Brothers Kinney, he graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central School as well as the Riverside School of Aeronautics in Utica, NY.

He was a mechanic by trade and worked for Fay Motors, Monroe Muffler and most recently, Edge of Town Auto Sales in Massena.

In his free time, David enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his true passion was being a musician. He was taught to play the guitar by his father at the age of 12 and continued to play up until the day before he passed away. He became a very talented musician, playing at various places and for many Jamborees over the years.

He also enjoyed working with his hands as he was a good handyman and could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed spending time down at the river.
