County Legislator Webster helped a county citizen in need

I am not sure how to start this letter in support of Glenn Webster (Republican incumbent District 11 county legislator candidate) but here goes.

In your paper “This Week,” a short time ago was a letter commenting on the size of Glenn’s signs as compared to his involvement with the job of Legislator.

My experience with his involvement started some time ago when county Route 49 was being resurfaced and the work crew left me with a dilemma of not having the ability to utilize my driveway. It left me with about an eight-inch edge of the road to climb over to access the road, easy for my truck but impossible for my car to be driven over.

Not sure who to talk to about this, I called the commissioner’s office to no avail. Seems he was always unavailable. To make a long story short, this condition continued for about three weeks.

Frustration set in and I decided to call the only legislator that I knew, Glenn Webster, who lives only a short distance from my home. Glenn came to my house, saw my dilemma and proceeded to help with this problem, which got fixed within a few days.

Now I should explain that I do not live in Glenn’s districd, am not in his party, nor do we know each other well. Nor did he ever ask any of these questions.

As a civil servant, he saw a problem and utilized his position to help a citizen of the county in need. So you see the size of the sign – it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Glenn works for the people and as he says, he is not a politician.
