MASSENA — Committee assignments have been announced for Massena village trustees and few changes are scheduled.
According to Mayor Greg Paquin, village trustees assigned to the newly renamed Emergency Services Committee will work with the Massena police and fire departments along with the rescue squad.
“We felt it only made sense to incorporate all three within one committee to make sure we had better communication and so the departments are on the same page,” Paquin said during the board’s Dec. 19 meeting.
Committee assignments are generally unchanged following the re-election of Trustee Shelyn Peets in November to finish serving a one-year unexpired term.

In other action, trustees approved the final schedule for monthly meetings, which are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
