Cheryl L. Rabbitt, 75, Winthrop

WINTHROP -- Mrs. Cheryl L. Rabbitt, 75, passed away at the Claxton – Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg on Friday May 31, 2024.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop where services will be held on Tuesday June 11th.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with Cheryl’s Funeral Service commencing at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

Her burial will take place at Hopkinton – Ft. Jackson Cemetery.

Cheryl was born in Potsdam on January 5, 1949, to the late Harold and Barbara (Bandy) Clark and graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 1967.

Always possessing a great work ethic and a passion for travel, together with her husband Jack, she owned and operated their own hotel in Lincoln Maine.

Cheryl also worked as an accountant for various car dealerships in Syracuse and Florida. Lastly Cheryl worked as an accountant in the casino entertainment industry, employed by Railroad Pass Casino in Boulder City, NV.

Outside of work, Cheryl found solace in the great outdoors, and her love for nature was evident. In her earlier years she would often enjoy golfing, hunting, and fishing.

Cheryl is survived by her beloved siblings, Acelia Tyo of OH., Harold “Marty” Clark Jr. of MO., Patricia Clark of Winthrop, Barbara Williams of LA., and Kelley Arnold of AR.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her loyal companion for many years, her African Grey Parrot, Muddy.

Besides her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her siblings, Donald Clark, Lola Charleson, Meredith Crump, and Beth Borrowman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Lawrence Central School District.

May Cheryl be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and love for the beauty of the natural world.

Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
