CANTON – The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce invites the community to wear their favorite flannel attire and shop locally in Downtown Canton this Saturday, Oct. 5.

Get started on pre-holiday shopping and enjoy the fall festivities.

Many downtown Canton businesses will offer special promotions and activities for Flannel Fest attendees.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the highlights:

Little Italy (107 Main): Bring a Receipt from Friday or Saturday from a downtown business and be entered to win a $25 gift certificate, with purchase. Wear flannel and receive a 10% discount on dine-in or pick-up orders.

Grasse River Outfitters (45 Main): Discover the latest Patagonia styles, try on Blundstone boots, and snag great deals on Darn Tough Socks. Don’t forget to enter through the back entrance off Hodskin Street!

TAUNY (53 Main): Join TAUNY for a Woodworking Wall Art Youth Workshop from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM led by artist Kate Schuler. Kids can create their own wall art using simple tools and take it home. From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, families can drop in for a free workshop to transform wooden lath pieces into geometric artworks. Both events are part of Fall Family Weekend.

Canton Free Library (8 Park St): Bring your little ones for a Bear Storytime at 10 a.m., featuring stories, songs, and crafts perfect for toddlers through early elementary ages.

St. Lawrence County Center for History & Culture (3 E. Main): Celebrate Día de los Muertos with family-friendly activities, including making traditional papel picado and sugar skulls. Children can also enjoy face painting for a small fee. This event is also part of Fall Family Weekend.

Nature's Storehouse (21 Main): Enjoy free samples of apple crisp and boba milk/oat milk tea. Guests wearing flannel will receive 50 points redeemable for merchandise and discounts.

The County Seat Restaurant & Lounge (90 E. Main): Enjoy a 15% discount on food for patrons wearing flannel.

The Celtic Knot (17 Main): Sample tea products from One Steep at a Time and pick up free books while you’re there.

Flannel Fest is a component of the STLC Fall Family Weekend from Oct. 4-6. Fall Family Weekend will have a variety of activities for all ages, celebrating the heritage of the community.
