CANTON -- Canton Village DPW will begin leaf and brush pickup on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Fall pick up will continue through noon on Friday, Nov. 15.
DPW crews will pick up brush, limbs, and leaves. For ease in handling, limbs and brush should be bundled so the butt ends all point in the same direction.
Grass mixed with leaves, is acceptable as long as it is in paper bags. Other plantings like flowers and garden plants can also be included.
Leaves, etc., must be placed in paper leaf bags so they can be recycled at our composting center.
The use of plastic bags has been completely eliminated by the village. Paper leaf bags are available at most of our local stores.
For tall pick-ups, the DPW crew follows a pre-determined route around the Village to ensure complete pick up before beginning the route again.
If you put your brush out the day after the crew has picked up on your street, it might be several days before they return.
Questions may be addressed to the village superintendent, 315-386-2871.
