CANTON – The Canton Village Board awarded more than $1.5 million in bids Tuesday morning for the secondary water source on St. Lawrence University owned property behind 80 East Main St.
Mayor Michael Dalton said bids were awarded for general contracting to Whitton Construction, Gouverneur, for $669,700; mechanical to Northern Mechanical of Norfolk for $638,910, plumbing to Hyde Stone of Watertown for $35,400, and electrical to Collins-Hammond, Ogdensburg, for $157,000.
The secondary water source will supplement the village’s current Waterman Hill water source.
The actual total of bids awarded is $1,501,010.
Work is expected to begin in the near future.
