Canton Police seize crystal meth and crack cocaine valued at $180k following traffic stop, two Massena residents arrested

CANTON – A traffic stop in the Village of Canton Sunday evening netted a street value of approximately $180,000 of crystal  methamphetamine and crack cocaine.

Canton Police Chief James Santimaw reported Tuesday that at 6:53 p.m. a vehicle was stopped for passing a red signal at the corner of Main Street and Riverside Drive.

Arrested were Christopher J. McGregor, 43, of 18 Burney Ave, Massena, and Nancy S. Perry, 38, of 43 Sherwood Drive, Massena, Both subjects were each charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a Class A felony, and first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Narcotic Drug 8 oz. or more, also a Class A felony.

The drugs seized were 47.6 ounces of crystal methamphetamine and 40.6 ounces of crack/cocaine, said police.

The defendants were arraigned before Canton Town Court Justice Mike Morgan and both were remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail without bail.

Canton Village Police were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, the NYSP VGNET Unit, the Massena Village Police Department, and the United States Border patrol.
