CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Community Development Program’s Neighborhood Centers are now offering bed bug kits, lice kits, and preventative shampoos and sprays to low-income families and home-based workers.
The free kits, sprays and shampoos are were paid for by a grant awarded by the Corning Incorporated Foundation.
Families in need of a bed bug or lice kit should visit their closest Neighborhood Center. Centers are located in Canton, Potsdam, Gouverneur, Massena, Ogdensburg, Parishville, Pierrepont, and South Colton. Information on lice and/or bed bug eradication and control will be included in each of the kits. Income verification will be required. Community service agencies are also welcome to refer families to the neighborhood centers for assistance.
Low-income home-based workers will also have access to preventative lice shampoo and/or spray through the neighborhood centers. These individuals should bring income verification and proof that they are working in vulnerable homes. Often times a business card, hire letter, or job description will suffice.
The Corning Incorporated Foundation is a charitable contributions organization established by Corning Incorporated in 1952.
