MASSENA – SeaComm Federal Credit Union recently donated $10,000 in support of Homeward Bound Adirondacks. The funds will be used to assist in the organization’s Capital Campaign, with a focus on building structures, specifically individual cabins needed to provide weekend retreats for Veterans.

“We are pleased to assist Homeward Bound Adirondacks in its efforts to raise needed funds for local veterans, who have unselfishly served our Country and have experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,” said SeaComm President and Chief Executive Officer Scott A. Wilson. “This contribution will support the construction of retreat spaces to help make a positive difference in the lives of those Veterans in our communities.”

Homeward Bound Adirondacks continues to organize weekend Veteran retreats in the Adirondacks. The goal of the retreats is to address the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) experienced by a large number of Veterans. The retreats include outdoor activities, team building, and equine assisted PTSD work provided at no cost to Veterans or their families. The organization also provides free medical transportation to Veterans and their families, along with crisis outreach, and suicide prevention programs.
