CANTON – It should soon be easier to find the new Canton Historian Office when new signage is installed on the front facade at 7 Main St., Canton.

On Wednesday night’s monthly meeting of the Canton Town Board, Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley reported the Canton Community Fund has awarded $1,495 in funding for the historian's office signage work.

Ashley thanks Councilman John Taillon for initiating and obtaining the CCF grant money.

An open house to celebrate the opening of the new historian’s complex was held Jan. 17.

Canton Historian Linda Casserly told board members that the new office is experiencing a steady flow of traffic, including a class from St. Lawrence University.

Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 to 3 p.m., and Thursday from 10 to 2 p.m. The office phone number is (315) 386-1633 and the website is historian@cantonny.gov .
