LISBON -- Nearly 100 people attended Assemblyman Mark Walczyk’s “Bonfire Sessions,” a series of listening events to give constituents from St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties an opportunity to discuss state issues directly with their Assemblyman in an informal setting. The events were held on Oct. 12 at Lisbon Beach and Oct.19 at the Glen Park Fire Department.

“There’s something special about a fire that brings people together and something important to the health of the Republic that I hear issues directly from the people I represent,” said Assemblyman Mark Walczyk. “These relaxed public forums have been awesome and I want to thank everyone who came out to participate and enjoyed spending some time around a fire.”

Attendees discussed a wide variety of issues with Walczyk and his staff, who were also on hand, including the state’s business climate, agricultural topics, licensing roadblocks, and vaccine mandates, among many others. Walczyk plans to hold more of these listening events in 2022.

The Assemblyman encourages anyone who needs assistance with state issues, or has a related concern, to contact one of his offices. His office in Watertown can be reached by calling (315) 786-0284 and his office in Canton can be reached at (315) 386-2037, or you can send an email to walczykm@nyassembly.gov.
