MASSENA — A Massena man was found guilty Monday of secretly recording a teenager in her bedroom in October of 2019, according to St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary M. Pasqua.

John Lamb, 47, was found guilty of second-degree unlawful surveillance by a St. Lawrence County jury with Hon. Gregory P. Storie presiding over the trial.

The defendant was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail following the verdict.

Evidence at the trial established that on October 24, 2019, Lamb positioned a Sony camcorder outside the home of a 13-year old girl in order to secretly record her in her bedroom.

"Protecting the children in our community is a priority for all law enforcement agencies in the county,” DA Pasqua said. “My Office will pursue these crimes vigorously. In this case, the jury has spoken and justice has been served."

D.A. Pasqua commended Assistant District Attorney Sasha Mascarenhas and Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Joshua Haberkornhalm for their skilled prosecution and hard work on the case.

D.A. Pasqua also thanked the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), the New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit (FlU) and the United States Department of Homeland Security - Homeland Security Investigations, for the thorough investigation that led to this conviction.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on July 19.
