Opinion: Retired Ogdensburg police chief supports Walczyk for reelection

To the Editor:

I am issuing this letter of support for Mark Walczyk in his candidacy for re-election to the New York State Assembly.

Mark set out to connect with and be a watchdog for “The Front Yard of America”.

We are those people and he has served us well.

I have been most impressed with his dedication to making connections and listening to the concerns of all those in his district and for advocating for the concerns of our region.

Throughout his term Mark has continued to make opportunities for those he represents to be heard.

He has traveled throughout the region having “Bonfire Sessions” where he has met face to face with anyone wanting to attend and talk.

He has attended chicken barbecues and other local fundraisers, he has visited local businesses, not for profit organizations, schools, hospitals and with leaders in our communities.

He has done this not while on the campaign trail, but throughout his term in office.

In Albany Mark has worked hard and has been a fierce advocate for the North Country.

Mark and his staff routinely reach out to get input, listening to all sides of important topics and emerging legislation.

He gets the facts and listens to the people that he represents to make informed decisions on the issues that concern us all.

I am offering this letter of support for Assemblyman Mark Walczyk because there can be no better representative of the people than someone who truly listens to the concerns of those they represent and then works hard for them every day while in office.

Mark has done just that and he has my vote in the coming election.

Andrew D. Kennedy

Retired City of Ogdensburg Police Chief
