CANTON -- North Country Public Radio (NCPR) has added two radio veterans to their team.

Bonnie North has been named the station’s new Director of Audience, Programs, and Outreach, and Julia Ritchey was hired as a news reporter and producer.

North comes to NCPR after 14 years as a producer and co-host of “Lake Effect” at WUWM Milwaukee Public Radio. She’s a native of New Hampshire, and her career also includes seven years at Vermont Public Radio, service in the Army and work in the Balkans.

Julia Ritchey, a native of the mountains of North Carolina, moves to NCPR after an award-winning tenure at KUER in Salt Lake City, where she was the station’s managing editor and political reporter. Her career has also included reporting positions in Reno, Nevada, Savannah, Georgia, and in Senegal. Here, she will be based in the St. Lawrence Valley, reporting on issues in St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties, including Watertown, Fort Drum, the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands.
