Massena Rotary announces scholarship winners

MASSENA – The Massena Rotary Club announces its annual scholarship winners.

Anah Bogden, received the Rotarian Duke Lockrow award. Lockrow the first District Governor from the Massena Rotary club. Bogden will be attending SUNY Potsdam to pursue a degree in math and business.

Callie Dow, received the Rotarian Harry Clopman award. Clopman was the last active charter member of the Massena Rotary club as well as a well-known Massena businessman. He loved Rotary and all that it stands for. Dow will be attending the University of Plattsburgh to pursue a degree in nursing.

Jack Green received the Team A-Z / Massena Rotary Club scholarship, which is available for graduating seniors with postsecondary plans to go into a field that improves the lives of individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Green plans to attend the University at Buffalo for a degree in political science before moving into the school’s law program.

Also receiving the Team A-Z Scholarship from Madrid-Waddington Central was Jaelynn Uppstrom, who will attend SUNY Potsdam majoring in cccupational therapy.

Jade Henry received the outstanding BOCES student award. Henry was selected as the outstanding student who studied HVAC. She looks forward to heading to South Carolina - Parris island where she plans to start her career as a Marine.

Aiden Laughman, received the Lenard J. Langlois Memorial Scholarship. This award was established by the family to honor his memory and commitment to a higher education. Mr. Langlois was a charter member of the Massena Rotary club when it was formed in 1948. Laughman will be attending Clarkson University to pursue civil engineering.

Violet Reyes, received the Interact award. This award which is service above self goes to a senior Interact Club member who exhibits the quality and dedication to promote service and international understanding. Reyes will attend Tampa University majoring in biology.
