GOUVERNEUR – St. Lawrence Health System congratulates Gouverneur Hospital’s Employee of the Quarter Gerald Bergbower, Lead Maintenance Worker II.

Bergbower joined Gouverneur Hospital in 2006, and is part of the Plant Operations Team. He is described as someone who always goes out of his way to make sure everything at the hospital is working in perfect order. He takes care of projects ranging from heating and cooling to maintenance and repair, and ensures patient safety measures are met at every level.

Bergbower’s colleagues noted he puts what is best for the hospital first, and is exactly the type of team player everyone should strive to be. They noted his hard work and thoughtful solutions to problems are commendable.

“Jerry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Hospital that enables him to help maintain the operations of the facility when problems occur,” said Director of Plant Operations Chet Thomas. “He is constantly looking for ways to improve the facility - thinking of both patient and staff comfort first. Jerry is the type of person who will come to me on a Monday and say, ‘I was sitting at home this weekend and thinking about this or that and how we could fix it.’ He is a pleasure to work with.”

As Employee of the Quarter, Bergbower received a plant, gift card, gift basket, and a gift certificate donated by the Gouverneur Hospital Auxiliary.
