POTSDAM -- Clarkson University’s Office of Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) has announced the promotions of three team members.
Teresa Planty is promoted from Director of Alumni Relations to Associate Vice President of Engagement & Operations. She will continue to oversee Alumni Relations while adding responsibility for Donor Engagement & Stewardship and Development Policy, Research & Operations. During her 14 years with the the Development and Alumni Relations division, she has served in various positions.
Steven Smalling is promoted from Director of Major Gifts to Associate Vice President of Development. In his new role as Associate VP, he will continue to oversee the Major Gifts program while adding responsibility for The Annie Clarkson Society and Annual Giving. He will continue to work closely with key donors while setting the strategic direction for donor life-cycle management.
Nichole Thomas is promoted from Director of Annual Giving to Director of Development. In her new role, Thomas will continue to oversee all annual giving while taking on responsibility for the management of the major gifts process. Working closely with the Associate VP of Development, she will set, implement, and assess individual strategies for the complete portfolio of donors.
