Potsdam Community Band

Paul Meyers

POTSDAM – Paul Meyers, “one of the most eloquent jazz guitarists since Kenny Burrell,” (NY Times) will perform The Great American Songbook at a free concert Friday, July 14 at 7 p.m. in the Potsdam Presbyterian Church. Meyers has been a busy freelancer, sideman, and bandleader in and around New York City since 1980. A very active player in New York’s vibrant Brazilian jazz scene, Paul leads his own Brazilian jazz group, World on a String. HAMMOND — The 10th annual Jerry’s Run for Cancer will be Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15 starting off from 2317 County Route 6. Two-day camping is available. NORWOOD — The Norwood Village Green Concert Series will continue its 50th Anniversary Season on Sunday, July 16 with a special performance from Potsdam native Phil Hurley at 7 p.m. Hurley has been playing in bands since he was eight years old and was a founding member of the RCA recording and touring band Gigolo Aunts. He has had an extensive touring and songwriting career since then. Hurley released his solo album Nowhere Left To Run, produced by Chris Gage in 2019. Nan Hoffman concert

CANTON — Folk singer Nan Hoffman returns to Canton with “Songs for Kindness and Friendship,” a participatory concert for the whole family as part of the Canton Free Library’s Summer Library Program on Thursday, July 20 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on the Park. MADRID — The Arts Program of NNY at Christian Fellowship Center, 3662 County Route 14, will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat July 20 and 21, both at 7 p.m., and June 22 at 2 and 7 p.m. Cast of 46 community members. POTSDAM — A retreat is planned for women of all ages with cancer, newly diagnosed, in treatment or recovery at The Lodge at Dreaming Tree on July 21 and 22. Free to each participant. OGDENSBURG — Free Walk and Talk for adults will be July 21 at 10 a.m. starting at the library, 312 Washington St. Features historic homes and buildings on Washington Street and will end at the Bishop’s residence.
