"Library at the Beach" reading program begins July 6 in Norwood

NORWOOD — “Library at the Beach,” an independent summer reading program, arts program for kids, family movie, and tie dye t-shirts are among the offerings at Norwood Public Library this summer.

Norwood Public Library has partnered with the Norwood Recreation Department to hold “Library at the Beach” on Thursdays at 12:00 p.m, beginning July 6. This program features beach stories, literacy activities, and crafts for children.

A free summer reading program, “All Together Now,” begins July 1. It is open to all abilities. Children, teens, and adults are invited to register for the Read-At-Home portion of the program.

Weekly early literacy storytimes will be held at the library on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Local artist Kris Rozelle is once again teaming up with Norwood Public Library to offer an interactive art program, Arts All Together, for children ages 5 & up. This program begins July 12. Space is limited and registration is required. This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence Council Arts Council.

The library is showing a family movie on July 18 at 6 p.m.

On July 25 at 2 p.m., teens are invited to tie dye at the library. Please register by contacting the library with the teen’s shirt size.
