To the Editor:

I write today in support of John Michno as the next Legislator in District 15 of the St. Lawrence County Legislature. District 15, which includes Waddington, Louisville, and part of Massena needs a change.

John’s down to earth and common sense thinking is just what the doctor ordered. As the Mayor of Waddington, I know first-hand how important it is to work with everyone toward common goals. John shares that line of thinking. As a career counselor to students at the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, John knows the struggles that today’s youth and families have in our county.

John’s ability to listen, process information, and problem solve are what we need to solve the complex problems facing St. Lawrence County. As a counselor, John’s job is to bring people together and recognize hard truths. The current legislature boasts of the ever expanding fund balance in the county, but that fund balance has grown while county services suffer and important jobs remain unfilled. I believe John will work to restore services and make sure the people running the services are qualified and dedicated.

As a sportsman, John knows and respects the importance of  our unique area along the St. Lawrence River. He will work to protect what makes us unique. As a father, John knows the importance of good jobs and economic development to keep his family here in St. Lawrence County. If you’re tired of petty political squabbles and want someone who will listen, think, and act for all District 15 residents, John is your candidate.

I encourage everyone to support John Michno for District 15 Legislator on election day.
