RENSSELAER FALLS — State police are investigating the death of a man on Heuvelton Street.
Troopers are asking people who live on Heuvelton Street to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity for the last month.
Police responded Thursday morning to a residence on the street for a welfare check and reportedly located a deceased male inside the residence.
If anyone has information regarding this incident they are asked to call troopers at 315-379-0012.
This investigation is being conducted by the New York State Police, the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Officer, and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
UPDATE: State police say an autopsy is set to be performed at the Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist, Doctor Michael Sikirica to determine the cause and manner of death.
State police executed a search warrant at the residence to continue their investigation.
State police are asking for anyone who lives on Heuvelton Street to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity for the last month. If anyone has information regarding this incident is asked to call the State Police at 315-379-0012.
UPDATE: State police have now identified the deceased man as John Barr, 58, of Rensselear Falls.
The cause and manner of death are pending histology and toxicology.
