OGDENSBURG – Are you interested in becoming a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician?
A Child Passenger Safety Course will be held at the Ogdensburg Fire Department from August 19-22, 2024.
You must register in order to take this course at cert.safekids.org (click on Become a Tech, and search under New York State and certification; from here, you can find the course-taking place in Ogdensburg).
The Child Passenger Safety course is a four-day course that provides certification in installing child safety systems as well as educating the public on the importance transporting children in vehicles, safely.
Many community-based programs find that it is beneficial to have staff that are CPS certified.
CPS technicians can conduct child-safety-seat checks, where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistants with installing car seats.
CPS technicians are provided with opportunities to attend seminars to ensure that they are up-to-date on the latest technical information about child passenger safety.
