After a dry start this morning, a cold front will move through the St. Lawrence Valley late today, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms to mainly northern areas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Forecasters call for a 60% chance of rain or thunderstorms, and highs near 78. Winds will be 11-16 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.

A much cooler and drier airmass will follow behind the front, making for fall-like conditions through the first half of the week, NWS says.

Tonight there are more chances of thunderstorms and rain, with an overnight low around 49.

Labor Day will clear up in the afternoon, but remain cool with highs near 63.
