Sunny skies and seasonably warm temperatures are forecast today after a cool start in St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A cold front approaching from the west will spark scattered showers tonight, NWS says. Following a period of dry conditions tomorrow, a potent trough will provide forcing for numerous showers overnight into Thursday morning.
Expect highs today around 81 with winds 7-13 mph, the service says. Overnight the low will be around 66.
The extended forecast through next Monday is as follows:
Wednesday
A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 78. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night
Showers likely, mainly between 7pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday
A 30 percent chance of showers before 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
