Break out the swimsuits and sunscreen as summer-like weather is forecast for the weekend in St. Lawrence County.

Today will be a transition between our cloudy and cool pattern into a more typical summer pattern that will persist through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A high today of 82 is expected with sunny skies and light winds, NWS says. Overnight the low will be around 60.

Warmest conditions will be seen on Sunday when peak heat index values in the low 90s are expected, the service says.

A cold front will bring widespread showers Sunday night and cause a brief cool down for Monday into Tuesday, NWS says. Then temperatures will warm back up under high pressure to values near or above normal.
