CANTON -- More than 200 runners and walkers completed the 1--mile fun run or the 5k cross-country course in the first race of the of the 2024 Summer Sunset Series.

70 participants were new to the series.

Jeff Jones, Kaden Worthley and Eric Milks took the top three spots, finsihing in 18:15, 18:19 and 19:12, respectively.

Sharon Colbert led the women's field clocking in at 21:18.  Gretchen Braun was second in 22:26.  Lexi Stuntz took third with a time of 22:42.

Reed Bishop won the mile race with a time of 6:55.  Elowen Earl placed second, running 7:30.  Thomas Earl's time of 7:33 earned third place.

The Summer Sunset Series remaining race dates for 2024 are July 9th and August 13th.  Races are always the second Tuesday of the month.  

Registration begins at 6:30 pm next to the J-lot on the St. Lawrence University campus.  

The 1-mile fun run begins at 7:15, followed by the 5 k cross country run at 7:30.  The cost is $4.00 per race.
