CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team earned an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Tournament and will be headed to Madison, Wisconsin to face Penn State at Wisconsin on Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m.

The at-large bid is the first for the Scarlet and Brown since 2017.

"We have worked hard since the end of last season to hear our name today to be in the NCAA Tournament," said head coach Chris Wells. "What a great opportunity for our players to represent St. Lawrence University on the national stage."

"Hearing our players scream when we found out where we would be going will go down as one of my most memorable moments as a coach!"

St. Lawrence currently sit at 27-10-0 on the season and earned the third seed in the ECAC Tournament and advanced to the semifinals this past weekend vs. Clarkson.

The 11-team tournament will begin with three first-round games on Thursday, followed by four quarterfinal games at each host site. The winner of the game between Penn State and St. Lawrence will face second-seeded Wisconsin on Saturday, March 16 at 3 p.m. EST, 2 p.m. CST.

"We have a tremendous amount of respect for Penn State and both our staffs are very close friends," Wells added. "It will be fun to experience this together with them!"
