Families and children had the opportunity to play games and get to know their community heroes during the Massena Community Heroes Day at PAL on Aug. 4.
The event, with a theme of "Together, we build a safer, stronger community," featured members of the Massena Police Department, Massena Fire Department and Massena Rescue Squad.
Games, food and family activities were held from 5-8 p.m., with more than 125 people in attendance.
Police Chief Cody Wilson said the event offered families a prime opportunity to put a face with the name of community first responders.
