Scott J. Sawinski, 67, Massena

MASSENA -- Scott J. Sawinski, 67 of Parker Ave,, passed away on June 17, 2024.

Scott was born on September 30, 1956, in Massena, the son of the late Jacob and June (Hart) Sawinski.

He attended Massena schools and later joined the United States Marine Corp., where he was honorably discharged after three years of service.

At one time, Scott worked as a traveling Contractor and later as a Cook.

He enjoyed golfing and bowling and living by the 12-step program. In his younger years he umpired many softball games in the area.

Scott is survived by his children, Joe Davey, Christi (Justin) Zagrobelny, Carrie (Jared) Johnson, and Alfred (Valarie) Sawinski; his step-children, Brian Gladding, Rusty Gladding, Matt Gladding and Korrina Parrotte; nine grandchildren, Carleigh Zagrobelny, Ava and Sadie Johnson, Alex Jessmer, Raevyn Mathie, Genevieve Huto, Beatris Huto, Freya and Alaric Sawinski.

He was predeceased by a brother, Steven Sawinski and a half-sister, Linda Gauge.

Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Massena.

Memorial contributions in Scott's memory may be made to the DAV or Amvets in Massena.
