Three fire departments responded to a rail car filled with animal feed that caught fire at 7:19 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6. The rail car fire at the Ogdensburg Port proved difficult to extinguish, said Ogdensburg Professional Firefighters in a Facebook post. Also responding, following a mutual aid request, were Lisbon and Heuvelton volunteer fire departments, and the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad. The crews completely extinguished the fire and returned to service at 3:15 p.m.
