POTSDAM -- A Potsdam company was one of seven in the state to be awarded a portion of $350,000 from FuzeHub
A Potsdam startup was selected as a winner out of many competitors, Fuzehub said in a press release.
RemWell LLC, which will receive $50,000, is a company addressing public health and energy issues associated with groundwater contaminated by an emerging class of chemical contaminants.
During the competition Nov. 7-8 in Albany, 18 finalists from across the state pitched their innovations in front of a live audience. A panel then selected the seven award recipients based on the commercialization potential of their technology, Fuzehub said.
FuzeHub, a not-for-profit organization assisting small- to medium-sized manufacturing companies in New York State by matching them with technical and business resources, recently launched the Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation Fund. Lawrence, who passed away in 2015, was a top executive at the Center for Economic Growth, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) center for the Capital Region, and a champion for New York manufacturing and entrepreneurial communities.
