Potsdam Humane Society would like to thank all the local residents, businesses, and vendors who helped to make the 15th annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Walk and Craft Fair a success. Over 100 walkers and 80 dogs participated in the 3.2 mile walk on Saturday, May 4.

Thankfully, no raincoats were needed. Walkers received T-shirts designed by area students, Jazmine Carpenter, a junior from Morristown Central, and Madison Sorrento and Sloane Bicknell, from Potsdam Central. Additionally, many walkers received door prizes donated by area businesses. Local photographer Amy Stickles had a photo booth set up for doggie selfies and B99.3 provided on-air coverage of the day’s festivities.

Inside the Pine Street Arena nearly 60 vendors sold a wide variety of crafts, products, services, and delicious baked goods. The Potsdam Garden Club offered shoppers a great selection of annuals and perennials to get gardens off to a great start. The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department offered SAFE CHILD photo ID cards to interested parents.

Potsdam Humane Society would like to thank these organizations and all the volunteers who helped to make the event happen. Thanks to the Clarkson Pre-Health Services Club for assisting with donation requests, to Kinney Drugs and Save-a-Lot for donating walker water, to Dan’s Plumbing for providing port-a-potty facilities, to Trey Smutz for managing the arena, to all the area businesses who donated raffle and door prizes, and the PHS staff, Board members, and volunteers who donated their time and effort. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
