Philip B. Dailey, 87, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Funeral services for Philip B. Dailey, age 87 of Ogdensburg will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday (June 13, 2024) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating.

Entombment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held also on Thursday from 12:00 to 3:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Dailey passed away on Tuesday (June 11, 2024) at the St. Joseph’s Home in Ogdensburg.

Surviving is his wife, Phyllis; two children Jennifer (Andrew) Putman of Ogdensburg and Mathew (Angela) Dailey of Ogdensburg; grandchildren, Andrew (Jodi) Putman of Chazy, Austin Putman &  Aiden Putman of Ogdensburg; two sisters Valery (Robert) Haggett of Norwood, Diane Massia of Ogdensburg; two brothers, William Dailey of Waddington and Alan (Diane) Dailey of Lisbon; along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Phil was born on October 26, 1936, in Potsdam, a son of the late Mark & Jean (Henderson) Dailey.

He graduated from Norwood Norfolk Central School in 1954 and was enlisted in the US Army from 1955 to 1958. After receiving his honorable discharge, he became a member of the New York State National Guard from 1958 to 1963.

On August 26, 1961, he was married to Phyllis A. Pearson.

Phil received his Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees from SUNY Potsdam and later a Masters in Administration from St. Lawrence University.

He taught high school mathematics at Ogdensburg Free Academy from 1962 to 1992 when he retired. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ogdensburg, Elks Lodge 772, NYS Retired Teachers Association, FSNUR and FAOCS Alumni Chapter, and the St. Lawrence Golf & Country Club.

He enjoyed downhill skiing, square dancing, Caribbean Cruises and spending time with his family.
