Patricia Ann Murphy, age 85, of Morristown passed away on January 5 th at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by her family.

Patricia is survived by her five sons, Stephen (Jill) of Pennellville, NY, Michael (Colleen) of Morristown, NY, Mark (Jennifer) of Liverpool, NY, Francis (Lisa) of Geneva, NY and Thomas (Erin) of Brewerton, NY; two sisters, Marcia Brown of Alexander, NY and Pearl (John) Bloom of Hamlin, NY; 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Jacob, Joseph, Ryan, Sean, Matthew, Shannon, Rachel, Luke, Lexa, and Leah; one great-grandchild, Cillian; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Stephen Malinowski & C. June Gabriel; her stepfather, Rev. A. Howard Gabriel; and her sisters, Dianne Balch, Kathleen (Katie) Clark, and Barbra Van Tassel.

Pat was born in Utica, NY, on May 31, 1938, the oldest daughter of Stephen Malinowski and C. June (Holland) Malinowski. She graduated from Harrisville School in 1955. After graduation Pat went to Hepburn School of Nursing where she received her R.N. in 1958.

 Patricia was married to Joseph F. Murphy on February 27, 1960 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Monsignor Bailey officiating. She was a stay-at-home wife an mother until 1983 when she became the School Nurse at Morristown Central School. She retired in 1998 after 15 years of service.

Besides spending time with family, Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and spending time at the camp on the St. Lawrence River.

 Per Patricia’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral. A celebration of Life is planned for the summer. She will be buried in St. Mary’s cemetery with her husband Joe.
