Opinion: Canton attorney supports Ladouceur for Surrogate Court Judge

To the Editor:

This is a letter of unequivocal support for Surrogate Judge Michelle Ladouceur.

Michelle has a broad range of legal experience which makes her the most qualified individual to hold the position of St. Lawrence County Surrogate Judge. I have known Michelle since she practiced law in the same law firm with my wife, Cathleen E. O'Horo.

Michelle has acquired a great deal of experience in matrimonial and family law when she was a private practitioner. She zealously represented clients in their tough times of need. Michelle was always ethical, fair, practical and patient. These virtues will make her a great Judge.

To be a good matrimonial attorney one must have a working knowledge of many areas of law, including real property, wills, trusts, municipal law and many other areas.

This knowledge plus Michelle's experience as Chief Surrogate Court Clerk and Surrogate Judge makes her the best person for this Judgeship.

I am elderly enough to have worked many years in the same office building as Terri Holmes, Michelle's mother. I have also worked with Donnie Holmes her father. Her family upbringing will serve her well as St. Lawrence County Surrogate Judge. It also will benefit all of the Citizens of St. Lawrence County.

Please join with me on November 8 and cast your ballot for Surrogate Judge Michelle Ladouceur.
