OGDENSBURG – An Ogdensburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated July 6 on CR 4, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Troopers charged Edward W. Lavarnway, 73, with first-offense DWI stemming from a traffic stop around 12:45 p.m. that day, officers said.
Troopers said the driver, who was identified as Lavarnway, was showing signs of impairment. Troopers reportedly administered field sobriety tests, which he failed. Lavarnway was provided a breath sample of .09% blood-alcohol content (BAC), officers said. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Oswegatchie Court for a later date in August.
