MASSENA -- Spring "Fever" Fest, a ten-day community celebration, is ready to roll May 1 through May 10.

Supported by lead sponsors ALCOA, WellNow Urgent Care, and A-1 King's Buffet, the festival features a robust schedule of events showcasing Massena’s unique heritage and local business community.

Highlights include a regional history showcase, youth athletic competitions, and multiple town-wide giveaways.

"Massena in the spring is something special," St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Assistant Director Laura Pearson said. "We want to celebrate the season by highlighting the businesses and traditions that make the community a vibrant place to live and visit."

The festival kicks off with town-wide promotions, including a collaborative gift card giveaway coordinated by Simplicity Boutique and participating locations, including Mystic Rays Tanning Salon and Peets Jewelers.

Simultaneously, Hardy’s Kitchen & Bake Co. will launch a social media photography contest celebrating spring landmarks throughout the village.

The first weekend of the festival features the 2nd Annual Dueling Pianos event on May 2 at Cedar View Golf Club.

Also on Saturday, Alkies Taproom will host a family-friendly Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring an outdoor craft area for children to make necklaces, receive temporary tattoos, and enjoy a dedicated photo area.

On May 9, the focus shifts to youth and family activities at Alcoa Park with the Massena Spring Olympics, featuring classic field events and a torch-lighting ceremony.

The park will also play host to a 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament organized by Fahrenheit, providing a competitive outlet for local athletes.

History enthusiasts can also attend a special screening at the Seaway Visitor Center on May 9 at 1 p.m.

The presentation will feature a WPBS episode exploring Massena's royal connections, specifically Queen Elizabeth II’s 1959 visit to the Eisenhower Lock.

Special discounts for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8) and Mother’s Day will be offered throughout the week at Esther’s Coffee House.

Local businesses interested in participating in the festival or hosting an event are encouraged to contact the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.
