Mary E. Kothrade, 83, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Funeral Services for Mary E. Kothrade, age 83 of Ogdensburg will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday (January 26, 2024) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Deacon Mark LaLonde officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ogdensburg.

Calling hours will be held also on Friday from 4:00 pm to the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Kothrade passed away on Tuesday (January 23, 2024) at the St. Joseph’s Home.

Surviving is her sister Martha (Bruce) LeBarge of Ogdensburg; a niece Kimberly (Jamie) Matthews of Hermon; a nephew Derrick (Danelle) LeBarge of Pyrites along with several cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Kothrade in 2003; a son Joseph Stevens in 1992; and a niece Tammy Skidds in 2010.

Mary was born on November 12, 1940, in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph “Bert” & Beulah (Brothers) Marshall, and she graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. She was married to Frederick Kothrade on June 3, 1995.

During her career, she worked at Woods Bag & Canvas and CDP in Canton as a home health aide until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of the AmVets auxiliary and enjoyed playing cards and bingo, sewing, and socializing with friends.
