Marion M. Winney, 86, Lisbon

LISBON -- Marion M. Winney, age 86 of Lisbon passed away on Sunday (June 23, 2024) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. 

Private entombment will be a Foxwood Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; three sons, Kenneth Morrow of Lisbon, James Morrow & his wife, Tina Montroy of Heuvelton, Robert Morrow of Lisbon; five daughters, Lorraine Morrow of Rensselaer Falls, Lisa (Michael) Sharpe of Ogdensburg, Brenda (Donald) Snyder of Parishville, Lori (TJ) Frank of Canton and Kimberly Shea & her companion, Mark Green of South Colton; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Milton) Durham of DeKalb; a brother, Donald Gilbert of DeKalb; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins. 

A son, Richard Morrow; a sister, Edna Osborne and a brother, Eugene Gilbert predeceased her.

Marion was born on July 25, 1937, in the Town of DeKalb, a daughter of the late Glenn & Frances (Flight) Gilbert. 

She graduated from Hermon-Dekalb Central School and continued her education at Roethel’s Business School. 

A previous marriage to Richard Morrow ended, and she again found love with Alan J. Winney.  The couple was married in Heuvelton in 1985.

During her career she worked as a phone operator at age 9, worked on a dairy farm, traveled with a construction company as their bookkeeper, A Barton Hepburn Hospital as an admitting clerk and then was a medical secretary for the Lisbon Medical Group from 1983 to 2012.

Marion enjoyed gardening, camping at Higley Flow, bird watching, baking with her kids, reading, crocheting, canning, cooking, her dog & cat and especially time spent with her family.
