Maria Creazzo, 88, Massena

MASSENA - Maria Creazzo, 88, passed away from natural causes on Thursday night, September 5, 2024, under the loving care of the Massena Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Maria was born on September 16, 1935, in Turrivalignani, Italy, a charming province of Pescara, to her father Antonio Breda and her mother Giancinda Cicchelli. Maria's migration from Italy to the United States in the late 1950s landed her in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and then in Ottawa, Canada, with her two brothers.

She eventually married Joseph R. Creazzo in Massena. Maria's middle years were lived in full dedication to her Catholic faith, marriage, two sons, Rocco and Robert, and extended family in Ottawa and Pescara.

Later in life, Maria worked and became well-known in local neighborhoods for her Italian heritage, gardening, notable cooking abilities, and friendly nature. She touched many Massena residents with true concern for their well-being through her generosity, authenticity, and charming mannerisms.

Many stories have been told by Massena residents over the decades regarding her love of life, dedication to the church, and family values.
Maria is survived by her two loving sons, Rocco and Robert, their wives Melissa and Mary, her grandchildren Sophia, Julia, and Santino, her nieces Linda and her husband Agostino Bianconi and family, Tiziana and her husband Paul Wright and family, nephew Tony Breda and his wife Cathy and family, and her extended family in Italy.

Arrangements are under the love, care, and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call on Thursday, September 19, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 PM followed by a mass at Sacred Heart Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
