OGDENSBURG – Live music, cold beers and dozens of local vendors will be on hand at Ogdensburg Riverfest Saturday on the 300 block of Washington Street.

The party starts at 11 a.m. and admission is just $5 and marks the kickoff of summer fun in Ogdensburg.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ogdensburg Seaway Festival, which organizers are hoping will be bigger and better than ever.

Family activities will be available to keep children entertained and Another Fine Mess will provide music.

The Ogdensburg Seaway Festival Committee has been sponsoring an increasing number of events in recent years, drawing more than 1,000 to its craft fair at the Lockwood Arena.

Chris Lalone, who is one of the event organizers says the committee is hoping to provide local entertainment for residents and help draw people from neighboring communities to the city.

He said fundraisers like this help fund the Seaway Festival, Ogensburg’s largest summer event.

A beer garden sponsored by Hosmer’s Marina will be open for the event as will several wine tents.
