POTSDAM – Laura J. Perry, of Parishville, was recently inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Potsdam. She is the director of academic technology and support at Clarkson University.
Perry is a champion for innovative teaching and learning with technology; she creates strategic opportunities for faculty development; she builds flexible, active learning spaces; and her work inspires excellence in student-centered learning.
She earned a master of science degree in management systems from Clarkson and a bachelor of arts, double majoring in industrial and labor relations and speech communications, from SUNY Potsdam. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in instructional design and education technology at SUNY Potsdam. Her research interests include digital accessibility and inclusion.
Perry and her husband, Steve, and their teenage children, Jacob and Jordan, live in Parishville. Depending on the season, they enjoy snowmobiling or boating in the northern foothills of the Adirondack Park.
Laura says that she feels blessed by the warm reception she has received from fellow Rotarians as she returns to active membership. She is grateful for the wonderful opportunities the Potsdam community has given her since first arriving to attend college at SUNY Potsdam more than two decades ago. She is looking forward to giving back to the community that has been so good to her and her family.
The Potsdam Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at noon at the Potsdam Town Hall. Guests are welcome.
