GOUVERNEUR – Kinney Drugs is now accepting two additional wellness benefits cards in all stores. Dozens of health plans, especially Medicare Advantage Plans, offer “OTC benefits” that plan members access through a pre-loaded payment card.
Kinney Drugs has accepted one such card (called OTC Network cards) at its stores for nearly two years. Customers can now use both S3 health benefit cards and Nations Benefits cards in stores. OTC benefits funds are typically pre-loaded for members to spend on eligible health items including medications, vitamins/supplements, dental, eye, and ear care, first aid items, personal care, and incontinence products. Some plans also cover healthy foods. Specific product coverages depend upon each member’s health plan.
“We are thrilled to be able to accept these two additional health benefits cards at our stores, which will allow so many of our customers to access their funds for products they need,” said John Marraffa, R.Ph., President. And if someone isn’t sure if their health plan includes these benefits, they can look at their health insurance card for one of the following logos,” he added.
