POTSDAM — Children ages 5-15 are invited to participate in Potsdam’s first “Kidpreneur Marketplace” on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Market Street .

The event is hosted by Second Glance, Consignment and Boutique Store, located at 6 Market St.

Do your kids have a special interest that they'd love to turn into a business? Do they like making bracelets? Have a passion for Pokémon cards? Enjoy drawing or applying temporary tattoos? This one-day kids only craft show gives kids the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses and have experience selling a product or service.

The event is designed to inspire them to discover their inner entrepreneurial spirit.

Applications to participate must be submitted online: https://www.childrensbusinessfair.org/potsdam-newyork.

There is a $5 booth fee.

Booth spots will be located on either side of Market Street on the sidewalk, in front of local businesses. Only two businesses with the same concept will be accepted.

Participants must bring their own setup materials including chairs, tables and optional tents. Check in time is 10 a.m. at Second Glance where they will receive their assigned spots. Parents of younger children must sit in the booth with the child at all times, but the children should be responsible for set up, customer interaction, and sales.

Table fees and sponsorships will go toward cash prizes, a special kids only shopping event after and each Kidpreneur will get one sweet treat voucher to NJ’s Ice Cream, or Scoops Downtown, a $5 value. Prizes will be given out for three age groups; 5 yrs - 7 yrs, 8 yrs - 11 yrs, and 12 yrs - 15 yrs. Each group will be judged for: Most Original Business Idea, Highest Business Potential, and Best Presentation / Creativity.
