POTSDAM – Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley, a leader in compassionate, end-of-life care, welcomes Dr. Imré K. Rainey-Spence to the dedicated team. He is a highly esteemed physician with extensive experience in internal medicine and caring for hospitalized patients.
Dr. Rainey-Spence will be instrumental in advancing our mission of providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
“Dr. Rainey-Spence’s commitment to holistic patient care and his expertise in managing complex symptoms align perfectly with our values. By reviewing admissions and providing support for our on-call nurses, he will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients,” said Hospice CEO Ruth Fishbeck.
Dr. Rainey-Smith earned his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine and completed his residency at Mount Auburn Hospital. In addition to his clinical skills, Dr. Rainey-Spence has distinguished himself as a kind healthcare provider, who supports families and collaborates with other professionals.
“I’ve had family members in hospice,” Dr. Rainey-Smith says. “The nurses showed us all so much kindness and patience. One of their many skills was empowering us to just be family and meaningfully express our feelings to one another. As we grieved after their passing, guidance from hospice helped in our healing. This is the mission of hospice and it is so important to me and so many others.”
