NORWOOD -- A storm with high winds passed through parts of central St. Lawrence County Wednesday afternoon, downing trees, beaching at least one boat and causing other damage.

Desmond Azzopardi captured some of the damage at Norwood Lake on video. A boat dock was blown onto shore and a pontoon boat was beached.

Also in Norwood, the Methodist parsonage on Prospect Streetsuffered damage from the storm.

The high winds downed branches from maple trees located in front of the parsonage.

“We are so grateful no one was hurt,” said Kelly Lustyk, head trustee of the Methodist Church. “We had guests from the St. Olympia Church staying at the parsonage when the tree fell on the building.”
