Helen was born on March 31, 1931 in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Carmen & Bertha (Trusdale) Burley. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1948 and was later married to Robert L. Montgomery on April 15, 1952 at St. Mary’s Cathedral chapel by Msgr. Louis Berube.

During her career she worked as a sale clerk for Joseph Ferris Clothing Store and the Surprise Store. She later co-operated the Culligan Water Conditioning business with her husband until they retired.

Helen enjoyed traveling with her husband watching horse racing and going to Las Vegas, entertaining her family and friends, time in and around her pool, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events, eating vanilla ice cream and honey nut cheerios, and watching her favorite TV shows Castle & Blue Bloods. Helen could strike up a conversation with anyone at anytime and her friendliness will certainly be missed by many.
